Bose

On Monday, July 20, 2015, Bose® introduced two new variants of their QuietComfort® 20 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headphones. Originally introduced in 2013, the Bose QuietComfort 20 Headphones combine noise reduction, audio performance and comfort with an in-ear design that weighs 1½ ounces and fits in your pocket.

The QC®20 headphones now come in two colors – Black or White – and two versions: one for select iOS devices and a version for most Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets and other Android™ devices. Both options feature an inline microphone and a remote that makes it easier to take calls and control your music.

Noise Reduction Technology

The integrated noise reduction technology is accomplished by placing two tiny microphones in each earbud; one senses the sound approaching, the other measures the sound inside. The measurements are sent to a digital chip located in the control module in the headphone cord. The chip calculates and produces an equal and opposite signal within a fraction of a millisecond thus reducing outside noise.

You can take control of what you hear and when with a push of a button on the cord's Y-joint. In one mode, the noise cancelling is turned on so you can listen to your music while reducing outside noises. In the second mode (Aware Mode), the noise cancelling technology is turned off allowing you to hear your music while also hearing the world around you.

Included Features

The QC20 headphones include Bose TriPort® technology which uses ports to increase the effective acoustic space of the earbud to reproduce deep lows while maintaining clarity in vocals and instruments. Bose Active EQ tunes the frequency response for a more natural sound.

Bose QuietComfort 20 Headphones Earbud Tips and Battery

Exclusive Bose StayHear®+ tips provide a soft, secure fit and are barely felt -- with no need to force them into your ears. They sit at the entrance of the ear canal and feature a conical design that ensures a seal to passively block noise, and a custom acoustic enclosure to contribute to the active noise reduction.

The QC20 headphones include a rechargeable lithium-ion battery for up to 16 hours of use. If the battery dies, the music still plays on. A USB charging cable is included.

Pricing and Availability

The QC20 headphones are available beginning on July 20, 2015, from Bose for $299.95 at Bose retail stores, authorized Bose dealers, Bose.com and toll free at 1-800-444-BOSE (2673).
