Onkyo

On Monday, March 14, 2016, the details for four new Onkyo AV receivers scheduled to debut this year were announced. The new lineup includes the TX-NR757, TX-NR656 and TX-NR555 Dolby Atmos® network AV receivers and the TX-SR535 5.1 AV receiver.

The first three receivers (Those starting with TX-NR above) bring high-current Dynamic Audio Amplification and large number of state-of-the-art features including Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X™ decoding to Onkyo's line of mid-range AV receivers. They also support 4K UltraHD video and 4K upscaling; AirPlay, and Wi-Fi®, with Google Cast™ and Tidal™ music streaming.

The three new receivers also include Onkyo’s AccuReflex – part of the AccuEQ calibration suite. AccuReflex adjusts the phase of sound bounced off the ceiling by up-firing speakers so that it better syncs with sound from the other speakers to create a more accurate Dolby Atmos experience. Together with AccuEQ to eliminate standing waves, surround-sound is better balanced.

Included in a future firmware update will be FireConnect™ Powered by Blackfire. FireConnect is a wireless protocol that sends a signal from an audio source connected to the receiver to an optional Onkyo speaker or another FireConnect device if the third-party device is compatible with Onkyo FireConnect receivers.

The Fourth of the New Onkyo AV Receivers

The fourth receiver announced for Onkyo's 2016 lineup is the TX-SR353 – A 5.1-Channel A/V Receiver. It features full support for 4K video (4K/60 Hz/HDR/4:4:4/HDCP 2.2) via four HDMI® inputs, decoding for Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio™ common to Blu-ray discs, and video up-conversion via HDMI®.

The TX-SR353 includes AccuEQ room acoustic correction to help dial-in stereo imaging and equalized surround-sound. Once connected, the TX-SR353 acts as a hub for all AV sources, from the latest 4K media players and game consoles to legacy DVD decks and VCRs, and adds 140W of dynamic audio power from five discrete analog amplifiers. Audio can be streamed wireless from most mobile apps using the built-in Bluetooth technology.
