This week's Kodi Playlist Download is “The 2000's and 2010's.” This playlist caps a group of playlists that were requested by our daughter. Until her request for an 80's and 90's playlist, it had never occurred to me to build this kind of playlist. After building her playlist, I went to work and added playlists for all the double-decades from the 60's up through and beyond today. It was fun and she was right in wanting this kind of playlist. Often, we might group a song from, let's say, 1979 with one from 1980 or 1981. Those years are far enough from us now, yet close enough to each other to be lumped as one in our musical reflections.

With these double-decade playlists, we've marched along in time starting with the 1960's. With this list, we've finally come to the last of our double-decade playlists. What started out as a small request for one playlist became a group of five playlists that span the ages up to and eventually including 2019. Here's the list of double-decade playlists:

I'm not going to go into what separates the 2000's and 2010's from previous double-decades. I will say that personally, these years have been very good while not being exactly stellar for the world as a whole. Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt seem to be ruling things lately. I take solace in knowing that we're just a few short years from the end of this crazy and crazy-making decade. I'm sure that those that follow will be wonderful. As far as the music of the last 16 years is concerned, I've found it to be satisfying and a fun listen.

Enough of that falderal, let's get to the reason why you're here:

After downloading the .ZIP file, you need to do two things:

  1. Unzip the playlist into your Kodi music playlist folder — You can find specific information on playlist folders in this article: Kodi Playlist Folders
  2. Start Kodi (if it isn't already running) and navigate to the Playlist section of your music library, select this new playlist and enjoy

Today's playlist is 748 bytes in size and contains all of your music from the 2000's and 2010's except for Christmas, Classical and Flamenco in random order.

That's all there is to it. Follow the instructions listed above and quick as you can say, "Hey, Soul Sister," you'll have a new music playlist.

Note: If you just copy the .ZIP file into your playlist folder, Kodi will handle it just fine. It sees the zip file and adds it to your list of playlists. Clicking on the .ZIP file will open it up and present you with the contents. In the case of today's file: “The 2000's and 2010's.” Click on that and it works like any other playlist.
