This week's Kodi Playlist Download is “The 70's and 80's.” As I mentioned in the last playlist (Kodi Playlist Download The 60's and 70's), I built these dual-decade playlists to satisfy the desires of those who want playlists that span more than just one decade. We'll continue on until we've gone through all of the dual-decades available. Today, it's the 70's and 80's. The 80's and 90's is in the batter's box ready to take a swing at your music collection a few days from now.

What can you say about the 70's and 80's? Disco, big hair and a lot of me, Me, ME. We were thinking “Greed is good,” while we worried about “Brandy” (by one-hit-wonder Looking Glass). Am I being a bit harsh here? Perhaps – I do tend to mock the styles and attitudes of this period (I will not torture you with pictures of your humble curator taken during this time). The truth is I really like “Brandy” and there was a lot of great music produced during these 20 years. Hopefully, your collection is complete. If not, hie thee to your nearest brick and mortar or online music store and start filling in the holes. Even some of those disco ditties are fun to listen to now.

After downloading the .ZIP file, you need to do two things:

  1. Unzip the playlist into your Kodi music playlist folder — You can find specific information on playlist folders in this article: Kodi Playlist Folders
  2. Start Kodi (if it isn't already running) and navigate to the Playlist section of your music library, select this new playlist and enjoy

Today's playlist is 744 bytes in size and contains all of your music from the 1970's and 1980's except for Christmas, Classical and Flamenco in random order.

That's all there is to it. Follow the instructions listed above and quick as you can say, “Money Celebration,” you'll have a new music playlist.

Note: If you just copy the .ZIP file into your playlist folder, Kodi will handle it just fine. It sees the zip file and adds it to your list of playlists. Clicking on the .ZIP file will open it up and present you with the contents. In the case of today's file: “The 70's and 80's.” Click on that and it works like any other playlist.
