Can Next Step install our system in the evenings and on weekends when we're home from work?

Yes we can! Putting it delicately, having an 8am to 5pm weekday install window can be a pain. We don't like taking time off work for service appointments and we're pretty sure you don't like it either. Our install time windows are short and are built to be convenient for you. We have purposefully made ourselves available in the evenings and on weekends because we know you lead a busy life and taking time out for an installer should be as painless as possible.

Is Next Step willing to come to my home or business for very small jobs?

Yes. We can set up entire systems or simply mount a speaker on the wall. Regardless of the size of your project, your business is important to us. We're also pretty sure that you'll be so happy with our products and services that you'll call us in the future and recommend us to your family, friends, neighbors and associates.

Does Next Step offer post-sales / installation support?

Of course we do! We're here to help you with any questions you might have. If the support requires us to visit your home or business, we'll do that too.


Will Next Step teach me how to use the new system?

You bet! We're not happy until you're happy and proficient in using your new home system. We can also take your knowledge to as deep a level as you want. We're all about the single-push-button experience, but if you want to know details about programming, we can show you that, too. It's not magic and our egos aren't large enough to consider ourselves wizards with secret knowledge. We'll leave that to the Hogwarts graduates.

Will Next Step install and configure products we've purchased from other companies?

Of course! We sell the right products for your system. We're also happy to install something you've purchased from someone else. In fact, if you ask us, we'll tell you who else sells the product, at what price and we'll give you the option to purchase it from us or from them! Our goal is to make you happy and secure in the knowledge that you've done your best to get the best.

I tried to install a system I bought and it's not working or looking the way I intended. Can you help?

Yes we can. We've all been there at one time or another. Next Step is here to help you make things right. Oh and those unsightly wires snaking around the floor? We can fix that too!

We hired another company to install our system and they didn't do it right. Can you help?

Yes. We'll clean up your system, remount or move things if necessary and configure it properly. Our goal is that you are ecstatic with your system.


Can Next Step rewire the electrical in our family room?

We believe in best of breed service. We're happy to install and configure your home theater and low-voltage home automation system. For electrical work, we can help you find a qualified and licensed electrician.

Can Next Step remove large sections of Sheetrock or rearrange wall framing to hide wires and speakers?

We believe it is important for Next Step to “stay in our own lane.” We are experts on home entertainment and automation systems. Hammers, nails and framing – not so much. When doing major construction work on your home, it's important to us that you hire a qualified and licensed contractor. If you need a recommendation, we know a few that are pretty awesome. We'll work with your contractor to make sure everyone's desires and needs are met.


Do we have to explain our system every time we call you guys?

We maintain an in-house database record of your system. Whenever you call, we can pull up your record and know immediately what you have and what you might want or need. We never share your details with any third party. Our database is there to facilitate our communications with you and you alone.

How safe is your website?

We consider our website to have the best-in-breed in security. Our web hosting company is fanatical about security and so are we. We don't have a web store, so there's no reason to have your financial information on our site. We do offer a My Next Step web portal for all of our customers so that they can view their system information and plan for future upgrades, but it does not contain your name, address, or financial information. Plus, your portal is different from your neighbor's portal. they can't see yours and you can't see theirs. My Next Step is a free, opt-in service for our customers. If you don't want to participate you don't have to – we’re fine with that.
