This week's XBMC Playlist Download is “Blues, R&B and Soul.” Originating in America before the 1900's, you can draw a fairly straight line from Blues – to – R&B in the 40's – to – Soul in the 50's – to – Rock & Roll in the late 50's / early 60's. If you play pop or rock music on the guitar, you've probably at least played with the 12-bar blues and the blues scale. If you haven't, you really should. It's fun, expressive and deeply satisfying. If you're just listening, this is music you can feel and relate to.

After downloading the .ZIP file, you need to do two things:

  1. Unzip the playlist into your XBMC music playlist folder — You can find specific information on playlist folders in this article: Playlist Folders in XBMC
  2. Start XBMC (if it isn't already running) and navigate to the Playlist section of your music library, select this new playlist and enjoy

Today's playlist is 631 bytes in size and contains of all of your BB King, Supremes, Temptations and similar music in random order.

That's all there is to it. Follow the instructions listed above and quick as you can say, “Sweet Potato Pie,” you'll have a new music playlist.

Note: If you just copy the .ZIP file into your playlist folder, XBMC will handle it just fine. It sees the zip file and adds it to your list of playlists. Clicking on the .ZIP file will open it up and present you with the contents. In the case of today's file: “Blues, R&B and Soul.” Click on that and it works like any other playlist.
