Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A 60 Series AV Receivers Debut

On Tuesday, May 17, 2016, Yamaha announced it's premium AVENTAGE RX-A 60 Series of network AV receivers. These new receivers are engineered with high-quality components using short signal paths on grounded circuit boards. The boards are anchored to a frame-and-beam chassis. Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi® are built into the receivers. In addition, the new receivers are a part of Yamaha's multiroom wireless MusicCast system.

The Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A 60 Series DSP processors allow a wide assortment of surround sound formats including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Also, the Yamaha Compressed Music Enhancer is now optimized for better sound transmission using Bluetooth streaming. Additionally, all of the RX-A 60 AV receivers support high-resolution audio music files including ALAC at 96kHz / 24-bit, WAV, AIFF, FLAC up to 192 kHz / 24-bit and DSD TO 5.6 MHz.

RX-A 60 Receivers from the RX-A760 through the RX-A3060 include a phono input with preamp support for turntables with cartridges. Listeners will be able to use these network AV receivers to send music from a turntable to other rooms in the house via MusicCast.

Yamaha's YPAO System

All of the Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A 60 Series AV receivers include the proprietary YPAO™ sound optimization system. The YPAO system analyzes speaker placement, then calibrates sound levels to the specific room. Subwoofer equalization (EQ) is supported in the new receivers and the RX-A760 and higher models allow for subwoofer parametric EQ down to 15.6 Hz.

The RX-A660 is the base model for the AVENTAGE RX-A 60 Series. This network AV receiver is a 7.2 channel system at 80 watts per channel that supports 4K Ultra HD video resolution with HDR and BT.2020. surround sound. It includes four HDMI inputs and one output compatible with HDCP 2.2 copy protection. The receiver supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X object-based surround sound in 5.1.2 channels.

The next model up is the RX-A760. The receiver features 7.2 channels at 90 watts per channel. Included is Dolby Atmos and DTS:X configured for 5.1.2 channels. It can also be set up to output 5.1 channels plus a second zone with auto switching. It comes with one phono input, six HDMI inputs, three of which are compatible with HDCP 2.2 and one HDMI HDCP 2.2 output port. Rhapsody, SiriusXM Internet Radio are included as well as YPAO with Reflected Sound Control (R.S.C.) and intelligent assignable amps.

The RX-A860 network AV receiver offers 7.2 channels at 100 watts per channel. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are configured for 5.1.2 channels or the user can set the receiver to 5.1 channels plus Zone 2 with auto switching. The ports include eight HDMI inputs (three with HDCP 2.2), two HDMI with HDCP 2.2 outputs and one phono input. Additionally, the receiver includes YPAO R.S.C. with multipoint measurement, intelligent assignable amps for a choice of surround back or front presence channels and a vanity door front panel.

The AVENTAGE RX-A 60 Series RX-A1060 AV receiver features 7.2 channels at 110 watts per channel. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X can be setup with 5.1.2 channels or the receiver can be set to 5.1 channels plus Zone 2 with auto switching. Included are eight HDMI inputs with seven compatible with HDCP 2.2, Two HDMI outputs with HDCP 2.2 and one phono input. Also featured is a symmetrical amp layout, advanced dual ESS SABRE DACs, YPAO R.S.C. with multipoint measurement with a 7.1 channel equalizer. Zone 2 features include Zone Volume EQ, Zone Extra Bass and Zone Enhancer.

The more advanced RX-A2060 network AV receiver includes 9.2 channels at 140 watts per channel. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are configured for 5.1.4 or 7.1.2 channels. Also included are a 9.2 channel equalizer and dual ESS SABRE DACs and YPAO R.S.C. with 3D, multipoint and angle measurement.

The Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A 60 Series RX-A3060

The top-of-the-line Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A 60 Series RX-A3060 features 11 channels at 150 watts per channel. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X can be setup for 5.1.4 channels, 7.1.2 channels or 7.1.4 channels with an external 2-channel amplifier. The receiver includes an ESS SABRE 32-bit DAC with the ability to fine-tune ultra-low jitter phase lock look (PLL) mode to the desired level. Also included are YPAO R.S.C. with 3D, multipoint, 11.2-channel precision equalizer and 64-bit resolution.
