by | Oct 16, 2015

On Thursday, October 1, 2015, Yamaha introduced the RX-S601 slimline network A/V receiver – The latest product that supports Yamaha's MusicCast wireless multiroom audio system. At 4 3/8 inches high, the Yamaha RX-S601 is about two-thirds the height of the average A/V receiver which is typically between 6 ½ and 7 ½ inches high.

The Yamaha RX-S601 receiver is one of 20 Yamaha MusicCast products which include A/V receivers, wireless speakers, sound bars, Hi-Fi components and powered monitor speakers. Some of these products are available now with the rest available by the end of 2015. MusicCast is Yamaha's wireless multiroom audio system that uses your existing Wi-Fi® network to stream audio content to any room that has a MusicCast product.

The RX-S601 features 4K Ultra HD pass-through with HDCP 2.2, Burr-Brown 192 kHz / 24-bit digital-to-analog converters and Yamaha CINEMA DSP 3D processing with 17 DSP programs and Compressed Music Enhancer. It also offers HD Audio format decoding for Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio™. The included Yamaha proprietary YPAO™ technology provides automatic speaker setup to calibrate and optimize the system.
